Kevin J. Collins, CPA
As of March 1, 1986, Kevin J. Collins became a principal in the firm. He received his accounting degree from Villanova University in 1981 and a Master of Science in Taxation from Seton Hall University in December 1992. He also has a PFS (Personal Financial Specialist) Designation from the AICPA. Mr. Collins is a member of the AICPA, NJSCPA, Estate Planning Council of Bergen County, the State Taxation Committee and Personal Financial Planning Committee of the NJSCPA, and a member of the Tax Section and Personal Financial Planning Section of the AICPA.

Richard C. Tobin, CPA
As of January 1, 1989, Richard C. Tobin became a principal in the firm. He received his accounting degree from the University of Maryland in 1978. Mr. Tobin is a member of the AICPA, NJSCPA, the Litigation Services Committee of the NJSCPA, and the Board of Directors of the Research Institute for Hearing and Balance Disorder, Ltd. Richard has served on the YMYWHA Board of Directors and Finance Committee and was the founding director of the YMYWHA Planned Giving Foundation

James P. King, CPA MST
As of July 1, 2005, James P. King became a principal of the firm.  He received his B.B.A. in accounting from Pace University in 1987 and a Masters of Science in Taxation from Seton Hall University in May of 2002.  Jim is a member of the NJSCPA, NYSSCPA, New Jersey Tax Interest Group, and the Tax Section of the AICPA.  Throughout his accounting career, Jim has lectured on recent tax developments, current and proposed tax legislation and year-end tax strategies and has authored various tax articles for publication.

In 1986, the firm changed its name to Tobin & Collins, C.P.A.., P. A. In 1990, Kevin J. Collins and Richard C. Tobin moved the firm to Hackensack, New Jersey to the present day office’s at 75 Essex Street, Suite 200. Over the past 15 years the firm has grown significantly, expanding beyond their origin as a traditional tax and accounting firm. We employ cutting edge technology in keeping up with client’s needs in this on trust, knowledge and effective communication.

Our firm participates in the Peer Review program prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJSCPA). Our firm was last reviewed in June 2008. The resulting report stated that all of our accounting practices and procedures exceeded or complied with industry standards.
